Driving the F150 less

Driving the F150 less
I'm sure the price of gas has everyone driving only when needed anymore. I have had my 95 F150 for eight years, when I first bought it, I could fill both tanks at that time for about $45. Now it I can put $120 in it just to fill it both tanks. I love my 300, but using it for going commuting to and from work just doesn't work any more. I have been using my 1994 kawasaki klr250 since july when I bought it to commute to work. I get 70 mpg with it vs the 16 mpg with my F150. I plan on keeping my truck for at least another 5 years, but riding the motorcycle also helps keep the miles off my truck too along with the fuel savings. Has anyone else gone with an alternate means of transportation with the rise of gas prices?

I am still driving the below truck and it costs me about $100.00 every three weeks to fill up. I am 10 miles from work so I put about 20 miles on 4 days a week. Out here in Oregon, we have rain until about June. I have an '82 Goldwing that gets 40 MPG. When the weather clears, I will be riding it again. Too old for the rain riding now. The old joints don't like it any more.

I still drive my trucks for joy driving... i just cut other budgets to pay for fuel, example no more going out to dinner as much or movies... I love my truck and fuels prices..well it won't stop me from driving it. Just make sure you run it every few weeks to keep stuff lubricated and check the fluids more often.

When is the madness going to end!
Started driving my FSB w/5.8
Then started driving my 02 F150 w/4.2
Now driving my Mazda B2200 w/2.2
My Yamaha 650 is next on the list if prices keep going up.
Reg unleaded here is 3.52 per gallon, $20.00 gets me a little less than 5.7 gallons = half a tank in the Mazda and last about 3 days @ 50 miles a day.

I already don't drive much. I do take my son to preschool and pick him up 3-4 days a week. But if I HAVE to go anywhere, I've been driving our Dodge Grand Caravan quite a bit. I can get about 18-20 MPG around town with it, because I drive it easier than my wife does. LOL! Speaking of my wife, she probably drives Big Red as much as I do; she has a 20-mile round trip every day to work, and it's all highway, so I do let her take "my baby" 1 or 2 days a week to keep everything all nice and lubricated.
Gas was as low as $3.09 here in KY today and as high as $3.19. Doubt it stays that "low" for long, though. All around us it's $3.30 and up; my younger brother lives in IN and he says it's $3.45 there. Ouch.
I have been considering the purchase of a smaller car, but I can't make myself do it just yet.

The gf had a 96 neon she had been driving for a few years and I got her a deal on 2001 Daewoo, so she bought that in order to have a nicer car. We kinda switch off on who drives which one. They both get around 20mpg in town and 30-31 hwy. Somehow everytime we switch I have just filled the car I'm driving and the one she has been drive has half a tank. I'd like to get a cheap motorcycle to drive my 15 mile round trip to work during the summer and see if I can save a little more.
My 94 f-150 just gets used on snowy days, to haul anything, and for hunting now.
