When I got that I sent everything but the filter back. Like you said looked like to much of a pain for me to do in the campground. Looks good though. Just ordered a second filter and a cleaning kit, was supposed to be here a week ago and am still waiting.

I was close to sending the clamp back but figured I would use it because without the lower part of the original box there would have been nothing to support it from flopping around. I had a talk with Mike about the clamp and he told me that he was going to make a bracket for the clamp but there was not allot of interest in one for the price he would have had to charge. He told me that most people don't even attach the clamp, I thought why even have it then.
About your order call Mike, they sent me the wrong size rubber coupler and he overnighted it, I had it by 9am the next day. Seems like a great guy to do business with.
So what ever happened with all of the testing on these filters. I am looking at putting the 6637 filter on my truck. I am wondering if this would be a better filter to put on instead. How did it end up working with the covers.

Pete has the covers, and I have been running this filter for about 60K now. 2 oil analysis' done in that time and both showed the same or less silicon than my paper 6637. I have cleaned and reoiled my filter a few times, and it is holding up great. If you drive a good bit and dont want to spend $35 to $50 on a paper 6637 every time it needs changing, then this is the way to go.

The cover I got from Pete is holding up great even with the clamp. It isn't rubbing or ripping holes in it. I am glad I went with this setup, I use my truck to go to the desert/sand and the filter is doing great. I haven't done oil analysis but it sounds like it is as good or better than the paper one.
Why didn't it multi quote Blujay96's post?? I was responding to both quotes.
