Hi everyone. I'm new to this site and i have a question about my truck. I have had a mechanic take a quick look at it and he says the reason the oil is leaking so bad is because the rear engine seal is out, which makes sense. But im wondering what all i have to do to change that? i've heard you have to take the whole motor out, i've heard you just have to take the tranny out, and i've also heard you just have to drop the oil pan.Someone, please help me!
A rear seal usually requires that the tranny be dropped so you can get to the engine. Need a little more info on your '89. Which motor and do you have 4X4? For the best help click on the Forums tab and look over the forums. You will find boards for whichever motor you have and there is also one for your year of truck. Post your question in one of those and I'm sure you will get some help.
