So, what about the original question? Is there a difference between "SBC" and "SBF" rockers? If you look on eBay, they are listed to fit both in a couple of auctions. And no, its not pedestal vs. stud mount, the different listings I find are all stud mounts.
I know the ones on my clevor are the same as BB Chevy rockers, at least thats what I have read... all they say on them is 1.73 CompCams... not sure about small blocks... check the part numbers on a few different websites... see if they list the same number for ford and chevy...
The SBC rockers are different from SBF's. The ratio is one thing, but aparently the dimension from stud to valve is as well. This applies mainly to stock heads. My Canfields on my 331 use SBC rockers, but in a 1.7 ratio.
They're not the same. The trunnion to roller tip length is different. If you buy a rocker that says it fits both, good luck getting your geometry right. However, the sb AMC and the SBF are the same.
took the heads to the machine shop, and the guy said he could do the work on the stud mounts. but asked me how far they should go down. i know you guys say. .300, but he was saying somehting like .420 or there abouts? how far is to far? how about his price? 130-150 for the machine work, a valve job and instalation? that high low? or about right?
