He pulled the injector its not visibly broken... But he said he did a ?contribution? test and a compression test and both things pointed to the injector. Although I may have miss understood what he was talking about... some clarification from you guys would help.

Hi Nolan,

The "contribution" test is a Cylinder Contribution Test (CCT). It is done on a running engine to determine if one or more cylinders are weak, or you could say not contributing to its share of the work. The test results tell which cylinder or cylinders are the slackers. It sounds like he only found one bad cylinder. That's good because the CCT didn't point to any other cylinders. This lack of contribution can be caused by several things but is usually a bad injector, low compression, or both from what he told you.

Let me guess. You borrowed it on Friday evening, and here's what it looked like by the time he got it back Monday morning:

I dont know Im going to need your guys' help!!!! So I just talked to the dealership and they said that the re-manned injector i got was in fact bad... So they replaced it and it is better. BUT it still has a small misfire to it!!! The tech says it could be the ICP which im guessing is the injector control something. anyways so what do i do know??? A new ICP thing from them is like $800!!!!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!

You can get a new ICP and IPR off ebay for about $250 if you had to. Do a search. Have you tried unplugging the ICP sensor and see what it does to the idle?

I don't see how the Injector Control Pressure sensor would affect just one cylinder. It would affect them all. $800 is bucoo BS. You can get them on ebay for about 60 bucks. I don't think that would cause one cylinder to misfire. Didn't they have one to put in for testing? Maybe the injector they put in has a problem.
