Was planning on doing a flatbed for the Crew Cab in the fall, but hit on the idea of fiberglass bedsides. Through some "googling", I could only find bedsides for 8' beds. How difficult would it be to cut then remold them back together for a short bed?? Also, how about some opinions on how a fiberglass bedside for an 80s pickup would look on a 78 Crew Cab?
Ya 80's sides on a 70's truck would look bad and be a lot of money to have a mismatched body...
You know you can get 70's style fiberglass sides too... You don't have to buy an entire fiberglass bed either you can just buy the sides cut them to 6' and glue them on to any old full sized Ford bed from 1973-1996, they all bolt right up, with panel adhesive. Piece of cake, i did it on an International Scout.
There are rust free beds available too...do some searching, I'll send som links tomorrow when i get on my work computer.
Thanks Duke! Found that site too! Also found http://www.autofab.com/. They have a F100 kit, emailed them for info, if just the bedsides are avail, I may have solved the problem!!
