New BAD starter???
Ok after a few more hours out in the cold and darkness ive decided to pull out my recently puchased starter. This is the same starter i took down to the parts store and had tested, they said it was working fine. I decided to test it myself. I hooked up a ground and gave it some power...the bendex gear popped out but it wasnt spinning!!!! Profanity Removed?? Is it possible i got a bad starter?? It started the truck a few times now its shot??? What do you guys think???

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if you got a bad rebuilt starter. If you'd ever seen the rebuild process you'd feel the same way. I suggest you take it back and get a new one.

I've had bad luck with the rebuilt starters also. I've gone with re-manufacture ones with good results, they pretty much only reuse the casing. Everything else is new, unlike rebuilt ones were if it looks ok its left in the starter. Going with a new one is always good but like with everthing else in life there's guarantee.
