I bought a 69 F250 to get some parts for my 65. It had a set of headers installed on the 360. I found some paperwork in the glove box from where the owner had them installed in 1988. Said they are Cyclone headers> they seem to be pretty nice headers and still in decent shape after 20 years.
I did a quick search and couldn't come up with anything. Anyone ever heard of these? Know anything about them? Good? Bad? Other?
They are 2 1/4" "aluminized" long tube headers.
I think I'm going to sand blast them and have them powder coated.
Had a set of aluminized Blackjack's in my '74 highboy - long tube...
They lasted 15 years until they abruptly rotted through like overnight - they rotted where they had been scratched during installation (stupid me). Otherwise, they were great.
Different headers, yes, but the aluminized stuff does work for a long time if done right.
I have been running a set of Cyclone headers on my truck sense 1980, they have never leaked at the heads and have never come lose at the heads. My 66 is a 4x4 and the headers on the passenger side came in 3 pieces.
