If you guys ever considered it, I highly recommend it! TNT In Round Rock and myself decided to repaint our Door Handles, and my front Grill with it.. Came out AMAZING!
Tomorrow we are picking up more and doing Bed Rails, Tailgate Handle and Cowls..
I'll get photo's of it tomorrow for ya'll.. But we noticed a MAJOR difference.. It changed the whole look of the truck. His is that Torrado Red (Sp?) and mine is Black.. Mine blend in and disappear unlike when they were "Gray"..
Hardest part was the Grill.. Took me about an hour to mask all the chrome off, but DANG did it come out NICE!
Stay tuned for photo's.. I recommend this mod to everyone who is sick of the "Gray" plastic!
yup I have to agree. I had been debating on what to do for my bed rail caps. I HATED that chalky nasty looking gray, since everything else on my truck is black
That Fusion is the bomb !! REALLY made my truck look better painting that and the door handles.
Storm I picked up 3 more cans and more masking tape. Tomorrow we're doing both hood cowlings and tail gate handles, and Storms bed rails
We left the textured feel.. In my case, AS ALWAYS, I gotta replace tailgate and passenger side doors.. I'm one of those freaks that takes his truck in for a good detail.. Chemicals they put on the plastic didn't come off with the degreasers. So its all tore up.. I got replacements coming in.. But TNT's went on PERFECT.. He's never in his life put anything like Armor-All on his plastic.. It actually came out smooth, I wouldn't rough it up.. The plastic paint will adhere better to a textured surface.. After 3 coats it went smooth.
I'll get pics soon as the dang rain clears up.. It's been raining yesterdy and today
I hit the door handles and tailgate handle a few months ago, I only applied one coat. With what Storm mentioned I may hit em with a few more. I did notice some light scratches in the drivers side door handle a few days later after opening the doors a few times so I may try and spray some clear on them after I re-do them. I went the lazy route and just painted over the key hole instead of taping it off.
Heres the pics.. Excuse the mess, it's cloudy and it just stopped raining few hours ago.. But you can see a MAJOR difference.. I'll get better ones when I can wash it off..
This is passenger door.. You can see the tear up inside.. We thought it was runs but the more we worked on it the worse it got I swear those plastic shine chemicals are NASTY.. I think I was better off pulling the handles and soaking them.. But this gives me a reason to put Jimmi Jammers on now
You can see the difference.. It started pouring so we couldn't do the Bed Rails.. We had the tail gate cap in the shop when we painted it
But at least you can tell the difference between Ford Gray and the Black
FWIW, I've been using Fusion on my 03 cladded Chevy Avalanche for years. That's A LOT of plastic to cover! I find the Satin black more "forgiving" for those who don't paint a lot or are in a hurry.
It holds up very well, is durable, won't peel but WILL fade after about a year of so. Not bad but enough that a quick respray will show a difference. I repaint mine every year.
I'll be doing all my trim and running boards on my Excursion tomorrow. It's great for the wheel wells. I know the P/U's wouldn't use it in the back but for all cars/trucks that have plastic well liners. It really helps make the wheels "pop".
i did the black krylon fuzion on my wiper cowl and bumper caps in the back awhile ago it looks so wuch better than the faded grayish color. especially on a black truck. looks good storm
