Well shucks, now I don't know what I want. I have had three "stick in the floor" 4X4s (2 chevys, one Dodge) with auto locking hubs and very little trouble. I also had a 4X4 Ranger with manual hubs. It never had any 4WD problems at all, but I didn't like having to manually lock them in and out. Also, when driving in 2WD with the hubs locked in it would vibrate at 55 MPH and faster, so I had to slow down or unlock them, which I didn't like. I had three Blazers with ESOF and had problems with all of them as did my dad the first time he needed to use the 4WD on his new Explorer. My GF is a writer at a Ford dealership so I guess I will let her tell me what to get, she should know about the maintainence issues as much as anyone.
I agree with that statement. But the most that have problems are not maintaining the ESOF. Most people that have problems have no idea the hubs are operated by vacuum.
ESOF is like a spare tire. Too many people don't think about it until they need it, then it doesn't work.
05+ trucks went to a coil spring front suspension and bigger brakes.
But what has the coil springs and bigger brakes got to do with the hubs? I thought the ESOF hubs were the same as 99-04's. Did the hubs actually change in 05?
