front hubs

I have the auto/lock hubs and was wondering if you can replace them with manual locking hubs?

You can put manual hubs in. I suggest a good brand like warn maybe and when you put them in lightly grease them with a very good lubricant so they stay free and will come out later

Yup most say that. I have also converted many trucks with auto t cases to manual hubs and not had any issues other than then sticking inside the case. This why I suggested lubrication

If you have stock wheels and center caps make sure they will fit the hole. According to the measurements I got from Warn they won't fit through my center caps.

I have to ask why change them out? This will be my first winter with my esof setup in a SD. They still have a manual option or are the sticker just not that good evens manually locked? Seems a guy could just disable the vac setup and use them.

Yup, just manually lock from auto and block off the vacuum line to the hubs and you have the same thing. No need to replace, I don't belie pave their is a totally manual version from MM or Warn for 2005 and up anyway.

That's what I did. An added benefit is being able to use low range in 2WD for parking big trailers in tight spots. Much easier.

That is my understanding, as well.

It's common for the stock hubs to seize and no longer turn from manual to auto and there is no way to get them apart and clean/lube. Stock ford hubs are $200 ea. warns are half that.

Yeah, but warn doesn't make a hub replacement for the 2005 - 2007 hub do they? They don't fit in our larger hub, they fit in the 2004 and earlier? Added benefit is 4 low in 2 wheel as me2 states, pretty slick for backing those trailers up steep driveways and stuff. If yours are jammed up, then yo got to get them out somehow, the tech folder has the complete disassembly and greasing instructions, it's doable to save $200 a side, that's a US price, more like 400 per side here in the great white north.
Prices suck up here.

When I was changing u joints the other weekend pulled the hub off and a bunch of little plastic pieces came out with the hub they also wouldn't lock in auto when put in 4hi. I also would just like to have the manual hubs over the autos if I'm going to replace them.

I don't think so and I think the mile marker ones I found on xdp website think that is only to 96. So far the only true manual hub I found was a ford one. Someone correct me if I'm wrong would really like to know if there are others out there

You need to tell us what year your truck is. As mentioned, it does not appear that anybody makes manual hubs for the 2005+ trucks.
