yea i need to look for another light for the back of mine... 1 does fine but i would like another one for the offroading i have to do sometimes at night...
May I suggest about a 100 ohm resistor in line to the relay coil so you don't rob your backup lights of power?
1K ohm would be better if it works, so long as the relay energises.
The contacts of the relay should run to the flood lights, and forward to about a twenty or thirty amp fuse, and past the fuse to the battery positive itself.
I got some halegon lights only 4" long x 1.5" and bright as heck, hooked into trailer back-up light wire, and put a switch in back by tag light with a 3 way switch and hooked the other power source to the battery hot wire from trailer wires,so I can get out of truck key has to be on or engine running anyway flip the switch and have lights to hook up trailer, put them under bumper works great been doing this to all my trucks these came off my last one a 05. Lights were cheap maybe 15.00.
i thought of hooking it into the rv plug wires. i would have if i woulda known which wire it is, but it isnt as well weather protected down there as it is hooked into tail lights
2 stroke, I have (4) 55W halogens as back up lights. 2 are mounted on back rack, and the other 2 are next to the hitch receiver. I have a wire running back from battery and both are on separate fused switches. with 5% Tint on the back window, I still can't see much out the back...
you have a nice truck and don't know if you want ot do this but i punched 2 holes in my bumper, one truck has rubber mounted tractor lights with clear bulbs from a beacon light, the other i used flush mount rubber mount lights, they work good and when you hit somethin they pop out instead of break. but thats me i have no problem cutting holes in my truck.
