ok, advanced said i would be ok with using my injectors out of my 302. so i put them into my 460 because i had 3 dead ones and i had my old 302 laying there. i think that might be my prolems i am having with it. i have injectors out of a 460 coming tonite, hope they fix my problem, what do you guys think?
The 460 has 24 lb/hr injectors while the 302 injectors only flow 19 lb/hr. Having three mismatched would cause a lean mixture in those three cylinders.
First rule... NEVER, EVER listen to the part guy at advance. These kids are barely out of high school (if that) and wouldn't know an intake manifold from a spark plug if the computer didn't tell them they're on a different shelf.
yeah they are pretty worthless i have friends working at a advance near me that know their stuff but most these guys age from 15-40 and know nothing at all about what they are selling...i had a guy recommend getting gasoline anti-freeze (they have it in little bottles) so my fuel wouldn't freeze when i was picking up some brake pads....i live in northern VA, i was dissappointed because he claimed they sell plenty of it....i believe the freeze point is about -100 degrees F
I would see maybe ebay or maybe a junk yard...But this is just my opinion wouldn't you think that the injectors out of different truck that has more or less miles would have more or less wear on them so all of them wouldn't be uniform..Someone will chime in hear soon and help you out crabby..
ok, first of all, of all, i had all the injectors from the 302 in my motor. But Thursday I got some injectors out of a 88 460 for 50 bucks. My truck is now running just fine. Sounds good and I am so glad I solved that problem, i knew it had to be something stupid.
