i typicly tow 8-9k on a frequent basis 12-14 on occasion and the truck handels both fine, a good trailer break controller is a must for hauling large loads, and know how to properly set it up, i had to panic stop an 9k load one time i haddent notice my trailer plugin wasent seated in all the way and trailer breaks wernt working, lets just say you realy realize the importance of trailer breaks.

I think the book say 16,000 for combo weight with 3.55 and 20,000 with 4.10

So why in your first post, did you suggest that someone else do it? It's not often I see such a smart question followed by such a stupid answer.

For those who *know*, weight rating is almost never based on what a truck can get moving. It's all about what it can stop. Towing 25000 on any 1 ton truck is asking for a major accident and very valid lawsuits from anyone you run over, if they're lucky enough to survive and call a lawyer. Read what the truck is rated for and use that as your limit.
