ok i searched for litterally 4.5 hours on this and another site. i take my truck to the track very frequently to race....and i am so so sick of hearing "why would you want to go faster in a ranger???" well i do!!! my truck is lowered with performance suspension , traction bars to the rear axel and 6 inch stacks sticking three-four feet over the cab!!! i have nitto 555s as well... this truck is perfectly safe and capable of handling high speed in a straight line. so will anyone tell me how to disable the governor???i have a chip and it didnt do anything for my governor and i have also been told that my truck bein a 98 that there was a diferent way to disable the governor... to hard wire or something... im messing with my fuel curves with an apexi neo and am cinsidering lowered compression a turbo and a high boost capable shortblock but not when idiots at ford wont let me past 97mph please help!!!
so i just had a crazy idea and was curious if im close or way off??? what does the governor do to slow you down??? does it take away fuel??? if thats the case could i run a second power wire to the fuel pump relay from my apexi neo and have the neo power up that wire at full throttle??? would that keep the pump on even though the computer wants it off???? the only other thing i can think of would be if it were to shut off the injectors but im not sure thats why i would like your opinion
Get like a plug in tuner that can change the cutoff value and set it to some insanely high speed. You can't get rid of it, but you can change to a value that the vehicle will never actually achieve.

yeah ill give him a call asap... but out of curiosity does anyone know how the pcm makes the truck slow down??? i know it is the pcm im just not sure how it does it... the only things i can think of is cutting the fuel pump, cutting an injector or two or retardeding the timing severely.... i used a data logger and watched my timing advance when i hit the governor and there was only a few degrees difference... so if anyone knows im just curios
He is not easy to get ahold of. Do a google search on bama programmers, go to the site and check out what they offer, then talk to him - he can custom tune a programmer for your specific needs but you have to have an idea of what you want. I will say I like the torque program better than the HP program, just my prefrence. Anyway good luck with it -
does anyone know if the diablo delta chip will remove the governor??? its another chip im researching... but i cant find any where if it removes or raises the governor
