odd compression

As soon as it turned off the guy coasted off the highway. The marks on the wall are most likely from me cranking it over doing a compression test and stuff. The motor will come out tomorrow. Silly customers and stuff taking me away from the truck. lol

if it was some parts running kid i would say when that thing poped (and i am sure it did) he needed to change his pants. and from the looks of it there is one more parts runner looking for a new job!

The new motor should be here this week and then whenever I am home I'll put it back in there. The cleanup of grease/dirt/oil still needs to be done. The bright side of all this is that we don't have to purchase another vehicle and have a payment on it.

Chrysler should have smashed the tooling for that engine the second they acquired AMC. I've dealt with one of those myself in a project 85 Cherokee I bought on the cheap. It failed on #3 cyinder in the same grandiose fashion. After searching for several months for a running used engine, I gave up and unloaded the Cherokee as payment for work some machine work that was done towards getting it running. I think I came out on the better end of that deal. Neighbour had a similar engine in a Caravan. Same deal. Nothing worth a crap for used replacements. That van now sits engineless on the back of their property.

I was doing a little looking through fuel records and tossed them into my spreadsheet. The truck was averaging 17mpg and then all of the sudden on November 28, 2007 the mileage plummeted and the average from Nov. 28 to present was 14.5mpg. Hmm.
