no it isn't cheap. i've heard of them a lot less, but its still a fraction of buying a new carb.

I think its pretty cheap. I was expecting it to be over 100 bucks. We had to get a carb rebuild kit for one of our grain trucks, and it was over 100.

Sounds like a plan!! I won't be getting the '79 out of storage for Draggins, too much snow in the storage compound! The '07 will have to do for now!

What was the price of a 2 bbl exchange rebuild? They used to be around $120-150 afew years back.
Hopefully by the time the Draggins show is on the roads will be dry and the salt gone....
On edit: I just checked Napa and the exchange rebuilt carb price is whooping $263.....A new 4 bbl Edelbrock is a mch better deal, no exchange is only $338!

I think I`d be very tempted to return the carb kit/float and go for an Edlebrock, less than $300 difference if you do in now rather than later.
You just might make it up in fuel savings-4V vs 2V and more of the fun factor for sure.

naah...for now that 300 gets me my headers... i've been reading up on the 2150 motorcraft and with some polishing and cleaning it can reach 450 cfm or better... that'll be enough for now.

It will still be pretty fun. That edlebrock would be fun too though

But then a guy has to get a better intake, and a better cam. That 300 dollar carb sure adds up in want-parts!

Kits aren't too bad as long as your eye sight is good and a steady hand. I've done many in my life I think the only truck I haven't done on of mine is the 69 with a 300, thats because I can't find a damn kit.

Just watch how you take the carb apart piece by piece, clean and reassemlbe in same order.
