Question Improvements? cause problems?

I am approaching the end of my warrenty period and I am wondering most of the problems? I have seen at least most major problems on here are trucks with improvement add ons, do stock trucks have less major problems or is it a luck of the draw thing? I have put on an airraid intake and magnaflow 4" turbo back on my truck so far no concerns. I do not want to have something serious happen after my warrenty runs out. Has any body kept "stats" on the effect of more serious addons and the resulting problems? I don't mean EGR stuff or minor things like this but the more costly headgasket blow or worse. I have no intention of putting on any turner as I feel I have enough power for my application but I was curious? I certainly don't want to start any type of arguement if your can afford the potential effects of tuning then do it I just want to know if my truck is going to have the same type of problems regardless of modifications, I know one cannot predict this but what can a fella do to help with a less problimatic life from his truck. I do oil changes religiously and all other scheduled maintainance as well. I also realize there are many other variables involved such as driving habits and climate etc.

I have a 4" Banks exhaust, Accufab elbow, boost gauge, egt gauge and stock program. I tried the SCT chip and almost blew the engine so I got rid of the SCT at 35k miles and have been running stock program since without a problem. The truck has 122k miles and I pull a 12k# trailer fulltime. The truck runs like a dream and pulls the trailer without a hitch. The only drawback now is the price of fuel. I see $4.00 a gallon on the horizon which means trucky won't be traveling so much this summer.

The EGR system is not an isolated problem. Sooty EGR systems can cause serious turbo problems and these can lead to blown head gaskets.

The #1 best thing in my opinion is to keep the EGR system (and everything downstream) clean OR eliminate it. Add to this a ccv re-route to keep oil out of the air intake system.

Next is to monitor your vehicle vitals with gauges.

Then, install a return regulated fuel system - low fuel pressures kill injectors.

What kind of trailer doesn't have a hitch must be a dream.

Proper maintenance is definitely paramount with the 6.0. Have you considered adding a coolant filter?

From all the information I have managed to sort of understand here a coolant filter is a good option, as well the EGR elimination. CCV? not too farmilar with this, as well as the regulated fuel system? not sure what these do. My goal is long life after warrenty! Which one should I do first as this would be a budgeting improvement project unless it's not too expensive to put on. I would think I could do all the work myself I am fairly good with tools.
I will be towing a 20" 5th wheel on occasion and getting my wood for the winter this is all the hauling I would do with it. Are studs a necessary upgrade?

As long as the truck is kept fairly stock I would not worry about the head studs. I know there are some who have lost head gaskets without a tuner but I do not believe that it is as common with trucks that do run tuners. What have you got to loose anyways, if you do not put in head studs and the head gaskets start to leak just put them in at that time the cost is still the same. What I would do is put a boost gauge in to keep a good eye on it, because if the turbo vains start sticking and you get over boost it will destroy the head gaskets. This is especially prevelant when towing and climbing a grade.

My stock boost and ISSPRO boost are always within 1 psi. If I did it over again I would put in a water temp gauge. I've also got an EGT gauge and trans temp. The stock trans temp gauge is crap.
