TPS Issue Revisited

After 9 months, the truck is nearly ready to run again. This brings up the issue I had long before...I don't have a trustworthy TPS. My search on this hasn't turned up any new information. I am hoping that maybe someone has come across something that will be helpful to us all.

I have a 1994.5, and my throttle pedal is very expensive. I was told I can use one from a 96-97 with no modification. Is this correct?<O</O

I read that a few people have tried modding cheap sensors to work. Has anyone been successful?<O</O

Shooting in the dark...My biggest wonder is why can't I use a sensor from a 96-97 (if I can't), or even one from a superduty? Would it be possible to change the plug on the harness, and possibly get a chip burned to read it correctly if necessary? I have never seen the throttle pedal off of a super duty to know if they are even remotely the same. If it would be possible to rig this up, it would be the cheapest method in the long run and stil be using OEM parts. <O

Anyone have any ideas? There has to be an easy and cheap fix for this...I hope...

I don't know what is different about them....and honestly I can't imagine why they would be different. Sure is a difference in price.

Any salvage yards in your area? If you can find a junker 96-97 close you can get the throttle out of that to see if it fits, see if it works, or see if that TPS can be adapted to your throttle. It would be more work, but a whole lot less money.

Tps 94 E350

Hello folks, I´m from Argentina, and luckily I´ve got a E350 that I use to ride the wildest patagonia in search of wind just for winsurfing. Unfortunatelly there is just a few vans down here, and of course no repcement parts. I´ve problems with the TPS as I belive, and I bought a brand new TPS in Puerto Rico but I can´t find where is located to replace it. Does any body can help me out.
Thanks a lot
Cisco

Hello Cisco. Welcome to FTE

The TPS is one of the switches on the throttle pedal assembly.
