I want to put clearance lights on my 94 f350. I don't realy like the looks of the factory ones for this body styl of truck Does any one know if the 99 and up powerstroke ones will fit? Or are there any after market options? I haven't found any.
Also how hard will they be to wire in? is there a pig tail like on never trucks or will I just have to wire it into my park lights?
Check the contour of the cab. That is the only thing to watch so you will get a good seal between the light assemblies and the cab roof.
Your truck may have a plug in the harness for the lights. My 94 has them on factory. I wouldn't be supprised that your truck has a plug in the cab harness for them.
Alot of times builders won't change a complete harness for options like that. Just have one harness for all or most. It can be cheaper that way.
I had the stock amber clearance lights on my truck. And like you i didnt like the look of the stock ones and i wanted some clear ones to match my clear front lights.
So i installed a set off of a 99-02 Dodge. They look awesome...like they were suppose to go on the truck. The bottom of the lights are courved and they fit the contours of the cab very well. Ive never had a problem with leaks.
I bought mine off of ebay. You can find amber ones, clear, smoked and super white...
Im just throwing this out there as a suggestion, maybe you will like the 99-02 dodge lights more than the stock ford ones.
Heres a picture of my truck with the dodge lights. Its not the best picture but you get the idea.
I put some on my brothers black 2006 dodge that were smoke color. His did not come with a templet. I just went to the dealer and took measure ments from the door to each light and then from the windshield to each light. I put them on this way and you can't even tell a difference. I would just find a truck just like yours and measure their lights. Funny thing is, my brother didn't want to drill holes in his $40,000 truck so he asked me to do it. Then when I started to drill in his nice new truck, He started takeing pictures with his phone so incase I screwed up he could show people why. I think the hardest part was getting that headline down so I could wire it in. The dodge had a pre-wired connector on the RIGHT piller under the plastic. So If you don't see a wire on the left, you might check the other side. I know its a dodge but ford may have done the same.
