I know all you lucky guys in Oz got the 351c for many years after we poor souls in the states were robbed of the greatest smallblock ever built. My question is exactly how long did you have that motor in production? Did it stay long enough to get fuel injection? Sometime next year Im gonna be rebuildin my 351c, and since its gettin aussie heads, might as well see what else I can get from down under. This baby is gettin a roller cam and NOS! WEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
Oh and I was checkin Ford Australia's website, that Falcon Ute with the 347 factory Stroker is one BAD lookin car. Makes a guy wanna move down there....
We got both the 302C and 351C as options in all falcons and falcon-derived vehicles up until about 1983. By 1984 only the sports model 'ESP' falcons and police pursuit cars could be had with a v8.
Ford Aus didnt introduce efi to falcon engines until 1985, I do believe, and by then only 6cl engines could be had.
In short, there was never a factory efi setup for the cleveland engine; the best we ever got was a single 4bbl carbie. However, it might be of interest to you to know that from 79 onwards, Ford Aus fitted electronic ignitions (of the type with a small module attatched to the distributor) to their cleveland motors.
Thanks for the info. I was hopin by some longshot I'd be able to grab some stuff and do a stock EFI setup on my stang. Oh well. Still wanna bring one of those EFI crossflow 250's up for my buddies mustang, those engines are wicked. Thanks again!
