This guy has had me working in his house.......doing this and that........and come to find out he has a little leak starting in the 275gallon tank where the home heating oil is stored...........He wants to know if I want to buy it at a discount. Now this might be a stupid question(and I am sorry if it is), but I know or I think that I know that the diesel fuel and home heating oil are close in properties. Can this stuff be burned in our trucks? Would I have to modify anything? In these days of $4/gallon fuel we seek any and all ways to save money. I thought that I heard that this could be done a while back from somewhere.
you can mix it but home heating is a little more dirty then #1 or #2 fuel..could make the truck run rouph but it will run...also its not treated for winters like our diesel.thats why they sell K1....so gell point is higher..also its Red..if they dip tanks in your states..it will cost you more then you want..
I was just not sure.........I'll tell him it's a no go.............thanks for the information. This is the best place to find out the deal on stuff like that when it is dealing with my truck.
find out what it is first, in my neck of the woods the home heating fuel is no 2 offorad fuel,
Ditto, in my neck of the woods its good ol' #2 "dyed red". Says this on every home heating olil reciept I recieved this year. It's good to go in your truck, just dont get dipped.
yes there is..im in a small state..they tend to bug just the big trucks,,,but i dont chance it..way my luck goes..ill use it then be the first to be checked...plus at $1200 for injectors i dont chance it...some guy's on here have been checked..not sure if any of them have been caught with red dye....but if you do..the fines are in thousand $$$ range...it also takes a lot of tank full of clean fuel to get that dye out..
