So this past weekend I rebuilt my Stock Turbo charger installed a non-epbv outlet and new stock (not wicked) wheel. I have a ATS ported housing. Along with the rebuild I installed an ITP regulated return and finally dialed in the OBA that's been allowing more than 25 psi through on hard runs (prior to the new mods).
So here's the new issue. When in 80 Eco or 140 Smoke, I can exceed 30 psi and I know that's not healthy for it. How do I back it down to 25 psi? Adjust the wastegate rod longer? This thing pulls so hard now. I can't wait to take it to the track.
You're right on track with the wastegate rod adjustment. You need to adjust it longer so the gate will open more and keep the boost down to a safe level.

Or pull the turbo again and install a 1.0 A/R exhaust housing. that will bring your drive pressure down and allow you to boost a little higher.
What's a wastegate? Seriously, you can adjust it to bleed off sooner or try backing off the OBA so it defuels. Either one will give you a hit up top. If you don't run around like that all the time, leave it alone and use your right foot to control it. Nice to have the oomph when you want it and it will tolerate brief bursts no problem if it is rebuilt properly. That ATS housing ought to keep it from chewing itself up.
your best bet at this point would be to change to a larger housing. Not only will it lower your boost to a manageable level, it will reduce drive pressures effectively letting your engine breath better, and pull harder on the top end.
