Is there a transmission difference?

I have found a wrecked truck, It is a extenended cab 250. It looks like it got hit from the back. The front and grille appears to be intact. It says the motor and trans and transfer case is ok, but is there any differences in the trans or anything that i should be aware of? Both my trucks are regular cabs.

Thanks for the help.

I've read your post four times. I still have no idea what you're asking.

Sorry. Is there a difference between extened cab trans and regular cab trans? Is the drive shaft just longer?

an E4OD is an E4OD... there the same, longer drive shaft is all, Unless I'm sadly mistaken and someone can flame me.

Depending on the year.

Also the T-case is different between a 350 and 250. not a big deal though.

the four wheel drive e4od has a drain plug on the pan and hold an extra quart of fluid. The filter is also different on the 2 wheel drive. You can swap the two, but if you have a 2 wheel drive pan you have to use a 2 wheel drive filter.

I just bought a new pan for my e40d at ford. 36 bucks its 4wd and has the plug.

Plugs are only on the 4R100 pans but other than the drain they are the same pans.

Rick you shouldn't have a drain. The E4's didn't come with drains that started with the SD's

In 97 both pans (E4OD) had no drain plug.
