Got a new steering gear box on my truck not to long ago. After the ford dealer put it on I have to hold the wheel slightly to the left while going straight down the road. Could his be from wear and tear? Or is the truck out of alignment?
Probably just needs an alignment to get the steering wheel straight. Do you have a 250 or 350? if you have a 350 you can do it yourself. If you have a 250 you should have it put on an alignment machine.
Thats the thing I took it back to the dealer and they put it on a brand new alignment machine. My f-250 was the first vehicle ever on it. They claim nothing is wrong with the alignment. So thats why I thought maybe it was from wear and tear.
Jeth, I have the same issue as you do. Ive had my truck aligned twice in the last month and each time I tell them the wheel is slightly off. I have to hold it slightly to the right. Then when I go pick it up they tell me everything is fine. Sure enough I get in and find out its exactly the same. Still off. I think we both need to find different alignment shops.
