The only logical explanation for this is to: Put rocks with two or three frames all seperated with a 3" body lift and U shaped leaf springs for optimum lift, and get a set of 54" Thornbirds and bog it!
its a 5 speed trans and i want your advice tranny or t case it wont roll at all I riped the back bumper off pulling it up two the shop and it still outside
Guys are rough tonight.
Little slack for the guy would not be a bad thing.
Before you go any further ripping bumpers off, you may just remove the driveshaft from the rear axle, and unlock the front hubs. Whether or not the trans locked up (which could really only be a possibility with a manual) you can determine if the resistance is in an axle or something else.
If engine locked up, the auto trans will still allow the wheels to turn.
If manual trans locked up, the t-case could be placed in Neutral, and wheels will turn.
If t-case locked up, the front hubs could be dis-engaged, and rear driveshaft removed and wheels will turn.
If you believe an axle has locked up, lift one wheel, or one end of the truck, and rotate the opposite tire / axle.
This should verify if any of the axles have locked up. Lifting either the front or rear axle should free the opposite one if any one is locked up, or at least point you in the direction of the damaged one.
At any rate, find another tow point to tug your rig up a small hill. Tearing a bumper off is only an indication of a poor / weak tow point.
