Hey guys, does anyone know what's the backspacing or off set on a 08 20x8 factory wheel? I want to buy aftermarket wheels and don't want them sticking out of the fender no more than 2"-3" inches. Thanks for the help.
Most 20 Inch Rims In The 8x170 Lug Pattern Are Going To Be 8.5 To 9 Inches Wide, So The Offset Of The Factory Wheel Is Irrelavent, I Would Just Make Sure The Wheel You Choose Has At Least 10 - 18 Mm Positive Offset And You'll Be Fine If Your Keeping Stock Height.
If The Factory 20x8 Are Flush With The Fender And Have 6 Inch Backspace, Than A 20x10 With 4.5 Backspace Would Be 3.5 Inches Past The Fender, Better Get Some Fender Flares.
Look on the inside of the wheel, the size will be stamped there. The factory 20's should be a 20x9. Are you keeping the stock tire size? I put 17x10 on after taking off factory Harley wheels (20x9). The 17x10 have a 4.5" b.s. and with the 37X13.50R17LT they do stick out a bit more then I wanted but the wheels had to be forged as well as hubcentric per my wants/needs. Could not find a forged/hubcentric wheel with a 5"-5.25" b.s. that I liked so I settled for the 4.5" b.s. and will put the non-fender cut Bushwackers on. All in all, you 'll have to include tire sizes on said wheels in making your decision. Most local tire/wheel stores will "mount and try" for you, of course they will be pissed if you don't buy from them after all the "fitting" trials.
it may not be much help for you because i have an 03 with leaf springs but i'm running 20x10's with 5.5 backspace and zero mm off set. don't stick out any more than my 285's on stock 16's. and they don't rub anything either.
What size tire are you running on those rims?
I have a 04 and I am running 295's on stock rims. I was thinking of getting some 16X10 rims and want to put 315's on it. But I need to know if I will need more back spacing so they won't rub the leaf springs. I have a 2" leveling kit on it.
Thanks
i'm running 275/65/r20 goodyear wrangler at's now. i have been running 285 75's for the winter on stock wheels with no problems. i have an f350 with x code front springs snow plow prep so it sits a little higher then a 250. hope this helps
