I believe all the PCM's new/rebuilt available (cardone ect) 97 down, auto, 49state, only come TDE1. All other codes are obsolete now. Is this true?

I don't know. Never had to replace an OBS PCM for a customer or myself. I would assume that to be true. Ford will only program them for the latest code which would the TDE1 if its an auto.

First of all....THANK YOU MadVan Bill for that "LINKY" it will help prove that I am not as dingy as you have thought. It verify's what I asked you a month or so ago.

After you click on the link there is a box in the upper left corner for further use in other areas. Click on "Trouble Spots" Then Click on:
"Technical Service Bullitins (TSB's)" Then click on:
"Driveability/Fuel/Ign/Etc" Scroll down to Mid-page to:
"Malfunction Inicator Lamp"........Read, then click on (98-15-10)

All of what they are talking about is exactly what I have been fighting with for what seems like forever.

Do you recall me asking if there was a chance that those four (4) codes, P-1391, P-1393, P-1395, and/or P-1396 could be burned into memory??? Well according to this it appears that they can.

What do you think? Now how do I handle it?

You have just moved to the top of my Guru list.

If I'm reading the chart correctly, my "Calibration 7-90A" relates to the TDE1, right? So...I don't need to get my PCM reflashed?

If 1 of the 4 PCM's is the 1 you have, get it flashed for the repair.
You have nothing to loose. Print the TSB and give it to them.

Check this also.

Jody reflashes PCM's, I would call him and find out what he thinks, you can get the link to his number from the DP tuner site, and he does it cheaper than the local dealership in my area would do it.

plus you can get a tune flashed on at the same time I think.

Yes. Jody's tune will base off the TDE1.
Any rebuilt or new 202 PCM's will be TDE1 as Rick states.
This is as i know of it. True/false unknown for shure.
