window motor
my 92 250 passangers side window doesnt do anything. it doesnt go up or down. ive been looking around for instructions on how to replace the motor. is there anything that has a step by step for this. i have a f150 im stealing parts off of, i was thinking of taking its window motor. now, ive been looking at this and have read about drilling out the rivets. (excuse my ignorance) but is the motor hooked to the arm that moves the window? im assuming so but cannot figure out how to drop the motor, then replace the motor and hook it up to anything inside. looks like a huge pain, but id would like to fix it. thanks for any help.

Good luck.
Edit: If you don't have thin wall socket for the motor bolts I suggest you drill a 3/4 hole at the "dimples". That will give you a little extra wiggle room for removing and installing. I didn't have a 3/4" hole saw so I used a Dremel with a cuting wheel and made 3/4" square cutouts.
Two other factors come into play.
1) Stripped plastic gear in the window motor (very common for this to occur). Replacement: D0AZ-62234A24-B .. Gear Kit, available from Ford ($31.60) and most parts stores.
When the plastic gear strips, the motor runs, but the window won't move.
2) The window roller has broken apart. Replacement: D6AZ-5323240-A. Available from Ford ($7.88) and every autoparts store.
The same roller was used from the early 1970's and up, on most cars and trucks.
The plastic roller has a flexible metal threaded stud that bolts to the end of the regulator arm (used with or without power windows). The actual roller portion fits into the window channel that's bolted to the door glass.
What happens: The metal stud is pressed into the plastic roller. It pulls out of the plastic roller portion, now the window either binds up, or falls into the door.
