center console removal!

center console removal!
i tried to a search and no luck!
i need to removal the center console for two reasons, one i need to replace the bulb on the shirter because it doesn't light up, two because i want to find out if i can install my thick kicker bass **** under there. i want to moun it and have it sticking up (**** only) near the shifter. there is a nice pic of this in JL audio's gallery.
it looks like it could just pull right on up but want to make sure because i try to do it!

Open the console lid and pull up on the cupholders. It will pop off. The bulb for the shift indicator is on the drivers side basically right underneath the gear indicator. Its kinda hard to get your fingers in there (I replaced mine last week).
As for the rest of the console, It should be just a series of bolts/screws.

with this being said, the plate won't go up a whole lot due to the shifter being there! i will need to be able to take the whole thing away to drill a small hole for the bass ****!
i thought the shirter bezel parts come off by itself though! i will try this today!

I dont really understand what you are saying. I was referring to the flow-thru console. Is that what you have or the column shift?
The whole cupholder/shifter trim comes off as one piece, but the actual shifter stays in place. What plate are you reffering to?

i got the whole thing, thanks for the input! i was thinking the chrome bezel around the shifter came up first! but no, it stays there!
turns out i'll have plenty of room to mount my bass **** there, just got to figure out how to ge the wire in there!
