Yep, not many rocker arms break on ths 7.3, maybe you're thinking of the newer diesels. What engine you asking for?

they are called a rocker arm. They do break but I would not say all the time. See sets on ebay from time to time when others are parting out engines.

you're more likely to bend a pushrod, but even that isnt likely

Do you why did it happen? Over rev, ex brake, over boost ect.
This can/will happen if rod and rocker have been installed while the motor was not clocked.

I have had a few pushrods on t-444e's. I think the engine will compensate quite a bit and they are kinda hard to t-shoot. I dont know what causes it to happen. I allways wandered if my drivers were using ether to start their trucks and not wainting for the glow plugs to cool down. Then who knows how much that they are shooting into the intake.

It will happen again if you just replace the rod and rocker.
You have to find why now. A WAG now would be weak spring or sticky valve.

Was it intake or exhaust? Odds are ex.

it was the exhaust side and the pushrod was hitting up against something making a knocking noise, what else could cause this?? would it just be loose? how do you check the spring or sticky valve? can i just push on it or anything?? would i have to take the whole head off if it needs a valve replacement? i would assume yes...
