Well mine had failed and hydrolic locked the cylinder and bent and broke a push rod which in return ment i had to pull the motor and drop the pan to find the one piece of one of the pushrods.
A lot of smoke at startup, and perhaps as you drive. If it is fuel it will smoke gray/white. Also, mysterious loss of oil level on the stick with no visible leak, probably accompanied by blueish smoke. Truck still ain't right eh?
A little white smoke on cold morning but nothing else. Yeah...still ain't right. I replaced EPB sensor and tube and the IDM last week. I knew the IDM wasn't the fix but for a $150 IDM it will get the injector shop to shut up about that being the issue. The EBP sensor/tube needed a good cleaning/replacement anyway.
I'm going back to the shop this week to insist that I have an injector/o-ring issue with one of the four they put in. My problems didn't start that same day as replacement out of coincidence.
When mine went out the truck would literally smoke out parking lot every morning. It idled a little off, but once the engine got to operating temp there was no problems.
For some reason I couldn't go over 2500 rpms in gear. The engine would bog down and smoke bad again.
My fuel milage went crazy. I could get about 800 miles emptying both tanks. My oil level remained constant aswell as the coolant.
