Hey guys, who has experience with the hideaway strobe light kits? I want something that is in the headlights and taillights and is Blindingly bright... any suggestions?
I have the Whelen strobe kit on my 99f250. Have them mounted in the head lights and parking lights. They are awsome for snow plowing. I beleave they are the 60watt strobes. If I remember right the kit was like $200 on ebay
Make sure to get at least a 90 watt strobe kit!!!! Anything less than that is not bright enough during the day. TECMAN has put two or three kits in superduties.

I have a 6 strobe 90watt kit in my 04 f250. I have an amber strobe in both front directionals, amber strobe in reverse lights, and clear strobe in tail lights. Grear for plowing and road construction.
I also have a 6 way, 90 watt kit from whelen. Works awesome....you can custom configure one here, depending on you bed size, you will wnat longer wires for the rears. (20+ft) http://www.lshlights.us/amazing/item...robe%2DKits&Bc=
I've got everything I need to install 8 of these hideaways. Although I'll probably only install 4, where would you all put them if you had 8?
Also, would it look goofy if you put them in the front corners and brake lights, since they'd be amber and red due to the lenses?
I like them in the brake lights because the red stobe color gets everyones attention, and the yellow lens up front makes then legal. Not sure for every where but in NY you can not have forward facing clear strobes in a non police or non emergency unit. The yellow in my truck is super bright and gets everyones attention
"Brighter" isn't better. The problem with strobes, and the reason the California Highway Patrol never used them (except on motors- where they were the only alternative to power sucking halogen, all new stuff is 100% LED) is the "on" time is quite brief. A better warning signal is one that the eye can track, according to CHP- the largest LEO organization in the US. Sure, lots of debate on it, but anyone in the business can attest to strobe sales being off some 75% and LED can't be bought fast enough...
It would be illegal to have them on while driving, but I don't really care. I'm gonna use them just to look cool for the most part. I might use them if I have to pull someone out of a ditch or something too...just so the public can be cautious.
