I have a 6 stobe 90W Whelen kit that I installed on my 05 350. 2 amber ones in the front directionals, 2 white in the rear tail lights and 2 amber in the backup lights. The 2 in the tail lights are worthless in the daylight but the ones in the backup lights work great.
I also installed some LED strobes inside the cab facing out the back window and put another 2 LED strobes in the front grill. I most often use my warning lights when parked. One important thing to consider is how often you will use them when parked and if you want to leave the truck running to power the lights. The traditional strobes pull a good amount of power and can run the battery down if run all day where the LED based units could run for days without a problem. When parked I usually just use my LED strobes and I can run them all day long without worrying if the truck will start at the end of the day.
It would be illegal to have them on while driving, but I don't really care. I'm gonna use them just to look cool for the most part. I might use them if I have to pull someone out of a ditch or something too...just so the public can be cautious.
It is illegal to pull someone out of the ditch in Wisconsin. Keep that in mind. People do it all the time, but you could get a ticky for it.
It is also illegal to have white forward facing lights, unless you are police, fire, or EMS.
A lot of the guys were drilling headlight around me and they would run into condensation problems eventually. It seems they could never get a perfect seal. That being said most took YEARS to start blowing bulbs.
