I'm looking to replace both rear parking brake cables on my 76 f250 standard cab 4x4. I'm looking at Rockauto.com and they list several differnt units.
I see an option for 138" wheelbase so I went out to measure mine. I get 134" when I measure mine and I don't see that option on either website. Also on rockauto they list a right and left cable. Mine look to be the same on both sides. Partstrain doesn't list a left and right option. I got a ford factory number off my left cable d6t2z-2a635-j but couldn't find any info on that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I just did a search on this. There is load's of info on exactly what you are looking for. From what I read,FTE sponsor, Green Sales, will have what you are looking for.
Check your vin tag, it may give you your wheel base, you could be off a couple of inches.
When changing them you may find a four point spring tang holding the line in place, take a half inch closed end wrench and run the line through it and tap it over the tangs, this will hold them down so you can pull the line out.
It took me awhile to figure out what the heck pre y40,001 or after meant and how it relates to my vin. I'll give green sales a call Monday when they're open. They have 3 in stock. Thanks for the assistance.
