I was discussing this with a buddy on our last road trip in his 75 (going to pick up my ranger diesel). The wings windows were whistling like mad and it got me thinking. Has anyone ever tried to put door glass out of an 80's in these doors? I'm not sure what year they stopped doing the wing windows in these things?
Really? I could have sworn there was 1 piece before then, but I've never really paid attention before now. I guess I'll actually start paying attention to the 80's and 90's trucks I see now.
Ok - what about Broncos? It may be the fact that it's 1:40 AM and I am delirious from spending the last 11+ hours trying to salvage files off my work computer, but an early 90's bronco just popped up on the screensaver from the new computer and it was solid glass.
Did the broncos get solid glass in the 80's?
Even if they did - was the shape of the glass as similar as I think it is?
Hey ChaseTruck754, you should suggest to your buddy that a couple of pennies will take care of the vent window whistling. Or maybe more change. I have a penny and a nickel under the driver's side vent window latch and 2 pennies under the passenger side. No more whistling.
A one piece window would be kinda cool, seeing how I never use the wing windows anyway.
I know the change can fix some of them - but others just loke to keep making noise.
I'd like to get rid of mine mainly for noise - looks come second. The price people will aks for the glass if they ever make a "kit" will probably deter me from doing it anyways.
What are the people who have don this before using for glass? Maybe I'll quit being lazy and try a search...
*edit* - just ran a search in here and the appearance forum and could find anything useful.
