block heater question

i just tried to plug in my block heater and it shocked me. i beleive it came more the truck side. i unplugged it and left it is this what would cause those spontanious front end fires? what should i do. im kinda worried about my truck. thanks, dan

Check the cord out I bet it is broken somewhere

my block heater shorted out last winter and stopped working and i haven't used it since, i guess i'm a little parrinoid

Its the reason why you should have your heater on a GFI protected ckt.

probably a bad cord. Could even have a broken wire right by the plug. I have just replaced the plug ends before and not the whole cord.

Yes this is so true all it takes is some water in the extension cord plug to give you a good zap!

the extension cord is plugged into a gfi same circuit as upstairs bathroom. does this mean its safe? thanks

Does the house panel have breakers or fuses the gfi in the bathroom will only work if you have the cord plugged into the bathroom plug if you have breakers in the house panel and didn,t trip the breaker there is a bad ground on the house panel

I think you can buy just an in line gfi for outside we use them at work I don,t know what they are worth

when its overloaded it pops the reset button in the upstairs bathroom

the sad thing is i really do have a pesky neighbor. moved in 6 months ago and has called the county on me for my untagged vehicles twice already. new neighbors think they run the neighborhood.
