98 F150 I turn the thermostat to cool air on the dial but it stays hot? Can you change the switch behind the dial? Is it the door most of the time being broken,I've seen where some people bought a blender door fix kit on ebay what comes with the kit? thanks

pull the **** off the control (hot-cold) and see if the shaft is moving when you twist the ****. if it is, the probably the blend door. at the bottom center of the dash board, take the black plastic trim piece setting on the transmission hump off--- look up.

Mine did the same thing. Do what Steve the guru said......pull the floor vent trim piece off and have a look at the blend door actuator. Its an electric motor with a white plastic housing sandwiched between the transmission hump and the heater plenum. When you turn the heat control **** you should be able to see the shaft move. If you can't see the shaft, remove the three screws that secure the actuator to the plenum and let it drop down a little. If the actuator is working your problem is more than likely a broken blend door. Replacement is about $45 thru the dealer or $12 thru NAPA.

Before you do all that, I would recommend making sure that its not just your **** being stripped out. I know that sounds kind of simple, but I was having the exact same problem, and my dial would turn from cold to hot and stay in place and feel stiff like it always had when turning from cold to hot, but it was stripped just enough to just be riding over the adjuster behind it... fooled me good.
20 bucks from the dealer and about a 3-5 second fix.
