Newer wheels('05-'08) will fit the older trucks('99-'04), but require a spacer to prevent rubbing the springs. The '08 wheels will fit the '05-current trucks without issue.
The 05-08 trucks are the same offset and the 99-04 trucks are the same offset. They are drastically different from the old group to the new ones. The old wheels had 4.25" backspace and the new wheels are about 5.8" backspace.
If you put 99-04 wheels on a 05-08 they will stick way out and look silly. If you put a 05-08 wheel on a 99-04 trucks they will be tucked in to far and look silly along with hitting the leaf springs.
The brake and spring package was the reason for the change.
You always could run 1.5" spacer on the 99-04 truck to run the newer wheels but it is a scary premis if you ask me.
