Im considering putting meaty tires on the back of the 56. Any good tips on what combinations to look at? I beleive the stock steel rims are 15". Should I just get a bigger tire in the back or have to size up on the rim. I want this to give the rear end a little bit of a lift, while fitting under a stock wheel well.

I just went thru this process on my 49 but I do not know how much you have to work with in a 56 wheel well. My 49 had just over 12 inches of wheel well width to work with. I ended up with 265 70 15 tires which are 10.4 inches wide to maintain an inch of clearance to the fender and to the bed. They are on 8 inch rims with 4 1/2 inch backspace.
Someone should chime in that has been down this road with a 56.
