after thinkin bout this for a minute.. not that i owe any of you an "explanation" for my project, but ima give a bit of the story.
this is a "quick" build, will become my daily driver. i pushed this to the front of my list so i could enjoy something while i build my other projects. all said and done i will have around 5-6k in this truck. im not building a trailer queen or a magazine truck, this is a DRIVER...it will have ac and a few dress up things, but all of it ive bought or traded at killer deals (ie ididit column for 200 bux). i started this truck nov 1st and work 40 hrs a week at my job and have a family....i think the ol farm truck came a long way. but hey im just a punk, who's not in tune with the truely custom ford ideals....
hate it, love it, think your better, it doesnt matter....it's mine
Like the slam! Chop it, skirt it, and how about that grill and quad headlight set in the background? Hmmmm.... Lots of possibilities yet.
Hey, I get tired of going to car shows and seeing every 7 of 8 vehicles with a Cheb in the bay, but I respect anyone who has the guts to beat something into shape like you are.
I amaze to the blasting one recieves from you guys; I'm true Ford in a Ford as the next guy is as well as Originial style trucks. But not everyone is as fortunate to have the sliver spoon liner as you guys pretend to have. ( No offense against Dragginwagon). I'm disappointed in replies; I bet half you guys who comment negatively against his ride drive something besides a Ford as a daily driver. You folks act like a bunch of $100 millionaire's. No wonder so many guys sign off from here and never return.
I'm ****; wish I could really express myself to ya in person.
I agree each has his own opinion; but sometimes it best to keep it to yourself.

Dragginwagon; if I'm ever in your area I'll try & look you up.
That's pretty lame. Price a Ford 302 lately? I tried to sell one out of an 80s Mustang for $200 when I was parting it out a couple years ago. I didn't even get any offers... so I threw it in my '70 Mustang to replace the original 250 straight six. It wasn't a nice bright shiny new engine like that 350 Chivy, but it works great. A new 350 Chivy might be cheaper than a new Ford motor, but a junkyard Ford motor is cheaper yet. Silver spoon.. yeah whatever. >_<
My newest vehicle is a '92 F-150, but they are all Fords. I am daily driving a PT Cruiser (free rental) right now, but that's because my '83 Mustang got crushed sitting at the side of the road.
Getting OT here, but my point is that there's always another way to do something. Like I said before, the car is cool, but the bland Chivy motor detracts from the other work. I wouldn't say it sucks, it's still a neat machine. It just isn't as cool as it could be.
I agree with your comment's Hakk; Put you miss my point; I just feel like every time someones post a different than normal ride; its seems like its a time to condemn and not influence. Not everybody is as gifted, has the money backing or skills. I believe telling me that my ride sucks etc; its a weak minded individual concept; an especially havning to use the forum to bash, & not in person is wrong.
I also agree with John on having a forum for trick rides & classic different. Several guys & gals have modified thier rides beyond my standards; but I don't ridicule them.

Very well said!!! Now let's build, restore, modify or customize. Enjoy your rides.
i'd love to talk smack, but then i remember i have a '49 tudor in the backyard with a rat living under the hood =O. would love to replace it with a flathead or 390, but the chubbys are pretty good bang for buck.
an fe in the slick does have that special something. specially in the sound dept. i'm waiting for the 352 in my slick to die, then hopefully find a 390 or 360 to rebuild into a 390. nice work - keep posting progress pics.
all the ornery posts are really fun to read too so everyone else keep it up too please.
I will stand and applaud anyone who has the interest, ability, and skill to accomplish a task like this. I like my truck to look stock but I know many of you, like myself, have made modifications and improvements which are not stock and bring modern engineering to these old trucks. The purist could rag on all of us. Some of the negative comments here come from people who continue to alienate others to the point of driving them away. I have had to put out more than one fire sparked by these comments. I say as long as the posts aren't asking for help fixing the 18436572 with the 1-2-1 exhaust then let them come. That truck could easily have been in the Chinese que for products headed back to the trade imbalanced America. Instead, it will live on and have many more stories to tell. Save your rants for the wife, if she's still around!
diggin this up just to ruffle a few more feathers... trucks done and been to several shows/ states. its a blast to drive and gets tons of looks/ comments.
Man they look good slammed! That's a great pic of you guys cruzin the parking lot. I'm not big on the super-sized rim thing, but again they look alright on a slammed Slick. I wonder what a chromed set of old stock 22.5" rims would look like? Or a 4' bed chop? - kinda stuck on that short bed idea this week...
