I amaze to the blasting one recieves from you guys; I'm true Ford in a Ford as the next guy is as well as Originial style trucks. But not everyone is as fortunate to have the sliver spoon liner as you guys pretend to have. ( No offense against Dragginwagon). I'm disappointed in replies; I bet half you guys who comment negatively against his ride drive something besides a Ford as a daily driver. You folks act like a bunch of $100 millionaire's. No wonder so many guys sign off from here and never return.
I'm ****; wish I could really express myself to ya in person.
I agree each has his own opinion; but sometimes it best to keep it to yourself.
Mitch
Dragginwagon; if I'm ever in your area I'll try & look you up.
Nice job, looks great lots of DIY skills shown. As far as the motor goes build what you want. I am just finishing a 1932 Ford two door and I am running a sbc. When I started this project it is the only motor that you can really dress up and outfit with ac and alternator mounts ,oil pan, valve covers etc in a lot of billet without spending a fortune. Some guys may scoff at the drive train and walk away but who cares they probably dont have the talent to put something together from scratch anyways.Unless you have lots of money to put a nice ride together you have to do just about everything yourself.
I agree with customcab some comments are useful others are hateful and some comments that stay are put in your gallery. while comments are needed some OPINIONS are not. I had one guy post an opinion in my gallery about my steering wheel, That opinion should have been kept to his self. It still pisses me off when I read it. just be glad the purist have not attaked your gallery comment box.
Talent you have. keep on building.
Enjoy what you drive, Drive what you enjoy!
Wow! seems that Bill W forgot the Golden rule, If you have nothing good to say, then say Nothing Thats what I get for Beer + Posting = I see my error
Hey Bill it's not just you. You contribute so much here that most of us look up to you. Some of us with less experience but are eager to learn get turned off by purists shootin us down. Our trucks are our expressions we learn as we go. If this is a purist site jowiliker and the higher powers must say so. Otherwise young and creative minds are here to stay.
I just requested to add a new forum for trick trucks, maybe if you guys did the same you could have a place to worship, and could stop complaining about us in the classic truck forum.
After looking at the pictures and thinking more I see that you are running a business there. It makes a lot more sense to me to use the least expensive option when you need to try to make money on a project. It's hard to make money working on cars and I understand cutting corners where you can.
If it were a project just done to drive and keep for personal use, some decisions might be made differently. I still think putting that motor in there is poor taste, but it's probably the cheapest option. I stand by my initial opinions that the body and chassis work looks great, but the sbc detracts significantly from the project.
I have no problem with customizing - I'm planning on hacking into my '65 and making a super cab with a modern EFI V8 out of it. I just think the sbc... But you aren't doing it to please me, you're trying to make money and please yourself.
Hey Dragginwagon just a note ,if your not going to use the body mouldings I could use the passenger side cowl and cab corner? My Email is regdougan@sympatico.ca
its cool. its the internet and i can diffently let it roll off my back.i posted these pics knowing i would get a bit of slashing and its fine with me. i smile everytime i open my shop door, thats what's important to me
i dont have a business ( i do build a bunch and work on other people's rides a bit). i choose a sbc cause i have a couple layin round, im familiar with em, and i can get the add on's cheaper (imo), and i LOVE 700r4's. i do sell my projects once im tired with em, but im not in it for the riches.
Well it looks pretty neat but its too low for my taste its like hitting the ground are you going to drive it like that? if so you will hate potholes and speed bumps oh yeah i hate the motor too!!
Seeing as i am the resident ******* here, the truck is yours. I may have been a little more carefull in the heading words about showing off then showing a Mouse.....LOL.
I have no issues with using a Chevrolet engine, its a custom and my name is not on the title, but i have an issue with using a piece of crap camaro clip. Be creative. Fab a custom a arm front to lay frame. Clips are a cop out for a truck that demands custom frame work. I woudl see this at a show and shake my gourd and walk away. Customs demand trick, innoative approaches. Just more pablum in my book.
BTW the only ford engine that will fit on top of that POS camaro without sticking out the hood is a Mod Cammer with its flat front oil pan. The ford front mount oil pump just dont cut it in the custom world.
It lays... didn't say a POS camaro would not. And there is nothing custom about a camaro clip.
Are you going to gusset the tubing that holds the triangulated top bars? And at least weld up the ends on the tubing... sheesh.......Nothing looks more hokey.....
But thats my opinion and it don't count for much anyway. But i like the frame, looks like my first attempt.
