As stated earlier KRD, be careful! You might end up Butt Deep in orders! I'd love to have a nice place to put my gauges that I didn't have to build myself. Give us and idea on price and availability as soon as you know something. I'm positive they'll sell well!

Thanks,
Brad

Got started, and it was a late start. Got a little done.

Here I cleaned the pillar real good.

Here it is all taped up and ready for the wax.

Now here it is with a mold started. I waxed the tape, then used spray adheasive to temp glue the mat on. Mat does not like sharp angles, so it is easier if you use some 3M super 77 to hold it in place. Then I mixed up some resin and wetted it out.

Tomarrow I will add some more mat, then pull the mold and cut down to size.

So now I want to know how long you want the pillar. Just big enough for the guages? the entire lenght of the pillar?

Just my 2 cents, but I think for continuity.I'd go the whole length.Where are you putting the gauges low, middle, high. My vote low down near the dash OR 1/4 way up from dash

Nice work/progress!

Normally I'd say full length, but since the passanger side doesn't get one I don't know about full length. I'd say either full length or just longer than the gauges can both work. I'm not sure what will look better.

If you do it shorter (just a bit longer than the size of the gauges) then people could mount the gauges where they like (low middle or high on the pillar).

If you are gonna end up doing full length then my vote would be put the gauges low - close to the dash.

Got a little done today. The 5 1/2 hour quad ride slowed me down a little. Added a layed and pulled it tonight.

I would think that the closer to the dash the better, but that's just my opinion. That's gonna be SWEET!!

Have you decided on price yet? I want to put my order in now...!

on a price it is really going to depend on how easy it is going to be to reproduce them. I looked at autometers dual full pillars and they run about $60 from summit. I would expect thesee to run a little more since I am a 1 man shop, and it also depend on how many people are interested. The more people the less it will cost.

But that is in the future, lets see how they turn out and so on. As for mounting I will glue on some rings in different spots and we will see which most people like and go from there.

Tonight I am going to sand down the mold and mold it like 10 times over the next few days so I have plenty to do different mounting options on.

More pics to come

I can't speak for anyone else but I suspect that, depending on how well they turn out, you're going to get several orders...
