2004 Explorer rear door cracking

My 2004 explorer's rear door is cracking just below the windshield wiper shaft. Has anyone else had this happen?

I remember some people talking about a crack developing, but I thought it was a trim piece that was breaking.

Hopefully someone can chime in that has a better memory right now than me...

I believe he's talking about the liftgate applique. There is a TSB about this issue.

the plastic panel is glued to the sheetmetal with glue that will not let the two parts move related to each other. one expands faster than the other when cold weather arrives. you can buy a new panel and aelastic type glue to install new.. ford will not help with the $$$.
