I own a 1998 F150 4x4. Having trouble getting front brake rotors off. One dealer said I need to remove large nut with keeper and cotter key and 2 dealers said rotor shoud come off after removing wheel and bracket....Any one ever have this problem of maybe rotor seizing up on hub. THANKS dship
What ever you do use loctite on the brake caliper bolts, mine came loose and the caliper ended up eating the $400 Alluminum wheel. Thank god for junk yards. The tire shop i went two said it wasnt the first time they had seen it happen.
I'm am currently trying to take the front rotors off my '97 F150 4x4. I took a break to come inside and see if anyone had posted some suggestions. (Needed to warm up too.) I tried using a hammer on the rotor, but it won't budge. At this point I don't care about saving the rotors. They are too close to the minimum distance spec and I don't think any shop will turn these anyway.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
