I've been busy. I cut the rear fenders outta the ranger today as well as made some new tube crossmembers and boxed the rear of the frame in. I pulled so much sheet metal outta the bed that with no suspension lift on the stock springs, and just the body lift, I can fit 44's on it and still have about 2-3" of clearance!!!
Oh, and I made my jig to weld up the ladder bars. Got me some 1" (.156" wall) DOM to make the 4' long adjustable ladder bars.
ok STG.. you dont have to be an a**.. i asked a question about my ttb.. i know it stinks but hey im a struggling high school student.. my options are limited...
worthless without pics. I wanna see the ranger on 44s!
Id rather ride with you for a pass or two but looking at it would be nice also
Soon there grasshopper!! Right now the 79 frame is still on the trailer, so I am not working on the cold, damp ground, which made it interesting for welding and grinding. The Ranger body is still on the stock frame, but I put the rear on jackstands that centered the axle with the 44's rim center so I could get some good measurements. I also bobbed the bed about an 1" below the tail lights to give me a little more room to work with, plus it'll make it easier to get all of the mud out from under the body. I'll try to put the bed on the frame on Sunday to give a little preview of things to come.

well if you have done a little searching first you could have easily found out that an 8 in lift on ttb and 40s wont work, if you dont want him to be an as* then dont give him a reason to be one, if u wudda looked through the first couple pages in the section you could have found yer answer and spared yerself the embarassment, now that im dont ranting even though he didnt say anything bad to me, did you read through the sas threads i linked to you on fsb
edit: lol and one more thing, just cause your a stupid doesnt mean anything, im a "struggling" student but if your going to do it do it right, and you cant be struggling too awful much if you can afford to buy a 450hp crate 351 motor, if you call that struggling then damn i wish i was struggling as much as you

Just calm down a little, take ure time, and build it right the first time. I know I had to wait forever in 11th grade to just be able to get a set of 33's for my old rusty 78 bronco. But I saved my money and built it right. Then sold it for a pos Bronco II on 35's.

Then why dont you do the smart thing and not over build your truck? TTB and 35s. You'll be golden. When you have the money to step up to the 40" range do so. Function should come first before looks
ok.. i dont do too bad.. i make about 1500 a month.. i take home about 1000.. its just that this truck is gonna be on the streets 80% of the time... my buddies have dana 60s and high HP 350's on 40s and 44 in their chevies... i just wanted to do a little something for the fords... but i cant really afford to be the first one of us with rocks...
i mean if i saved i could but its kind of an all or nothing situation right now..
i spent a lot on my engine and i wanted a fast truck.. but now everyone is goin even higher with their trucks.. i gotta show em ford still beats their a double s.
drop the 351 in a 2wd something for DD and then build the mud truck right.. starting with suspension and axles, then throw a mild 460 in it when funds permit. you can't have both in one
