Go to my website:

Widow Makers are easy to spot if you know what to look for.

BTW, did you ever get the RV wheels?

In all my wheel literature, I don't find any widow makers prior to 1945. So you should be ok with '30s era being lock rings.

I just sold a set a set I got from a '47 COE. They were the outer snap ring design.

An added advantage to the older wheels will be that they are probably narrower than later versions. Considering the way you are going to use them, that I think is good.

They are not widow makers. I also don't think they are Budd. They look like Spoksteel brand from Motor Wheel Corporation. Stu

Yes, as long as they have the same 5 x 8" circle pattern as your truck. There were some 20" lock ring wheels used during the 1930s that had a 5 x 6 7/8" bolt circle. If these are not them, you should be ok.

These are supposed to be 20", am I right?

If they are the ones with the smaller 6 7/8" pattern, come back and let me know. I've had ideas of looking for a set of them to put on a Power Wagon. Stu

Stu,

Did you happen to see this trailer on uPay?

Looks like it has the same wheels, 9, maybe 10 of them! No bids on it yet. If it were closer I'd bid on it.

Com on Bob, You know how it goes.... Everyone whines about trying to get rid of the widomakers, and how tough it is to find these "priceless" safety devices. Yet when you bring these hourses to drink....... no one drinks!

Reamer,

I know what you mean, I've had a few sets of wheels for the larger trucks and they didn't sell as fast as I thought they would after reading how many guys are looking for them.
