I would guess it was closer to 5" then 4 1/2" but everybody's truck sits differently. 5" is probably what it was........rode GREAT especially considering the add-a-leaf was in the spring pack. Most will tell you to stay away from that, but at the time.....money was an issue, so I went that route on lifting it.
add-a-leaf is just one leaf that you adding to your existing spring pack. A new spring pack is all new leafs. Full replacement.....that's why it's so much more.
So it doesn't do anything more than the add a leaf does other than take a new Ford spring pack and add an extra leaf? What about the mini packs that clamp into the middle some how?
there is 2 diff add a leaf..one will up the GVW on the front axel an extra 600lb and the other is 800lb..it also lifts the front of the truck about an 1 1/2"..there for trucks with plows to hold the extra weight..i need it for my front bumper hitch when im pushing a camper into tight spots..
Travis...can you find out how much it weighs and how big of a box it will be??? i'll call around and see who will do this..thanks a lot...
Weight should be your only issue there, Ron. I worked at Fed-Ex and UPS while in college and we shipped springs all the time with nothing more than a shipping label stuck to them. They will charge you extra because of the weight and shape. Good luck!

That is what I was going to say. We have a UPS station at work and they never know if it is oversized till it is already in the computer...hmm
I would zip tie them together if they are not over 80 lb (70 is the heavy limit, but they give you ten or fifteen for cheap) Then just stick a label on.

that what I was hoping...if not ship it one by one...
Better use heavy zip-ties there. Those guys do not treat that type of stuff nicely. I know, I know, they say that every package is treated with care. What they don't tell you is the kind of care that it is treated with. When you have seen a box fall from thirty foot and seen guys climbing over boxes you have a tendency to package differently.

On the upside. They are springy pieces of metal I don't think you could wreck them...w/o doing something REALLY stupid.
I will get them weighed in a couple days Ron......I'm headed to work tomorrow, back sat night, so I'll give you a rough number by sunday.....then we'll worry about shipping them! I'm about to post pics of the newly installed lift....
