bilstein shocks!

I just put on the 5100 bilstein shocks and they improved the front end ride hight to where it sits perfectly level. it cleaned up the appearence of the truck real nice and it also rides alot better.

The only question i have, for anybody out there that used the shocks, is did you also have to put on a camber kit to adjust the camber? I am told that i might have to, but i don't want to if its not neccisary. or could i just get away with getting it re aligned?

First off, we need pics!

Secondly, you should get an alignment soon. Like this week. Which setting did you go with, the 1" or the 2"?

I just got the alignment done I went to sears and I let them do it. They ran a test and decided a camber kit wasn’t necessary. The problem was it sucked the toe in about two degrees total, so it was definitely in desperate need. I will upload a few pics this weekend for everybody to see. Thanks for the info. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

I equate the geometry change to be sinilar to what I experienced with adding the AS leveling kit. Fair warning, make sure your alignment shop knows what they are doing. I had mine aligned twice by the dealer (generally a good shop for me), once immediately after install, and again in about 1.5 years. Had significant premature outer edge tire wear. Took it to 4WheelParts to have a camber kit installed and alignment done, and after about 10k miles, it seems I have even wear now. Point being, just because it is "aligned to specs" does not mean it is properly aligned for your situation.

Had similar situation with headlight alignment. dealer aligned to specs after levelling kit install. Could not see 30 feet ahead of my truck. Aligned them myself per owner's manual instructions, and I could see again.

Thanks for the advice. I will hold off a while and watch how my tires wear. if they wear too much on the outside I will put a camber kit on it. It feels like it is traveling down the road pretty true but we will see what happens.
