Hi I have a '95 F350 7.3L. A couple months ago I had a transmision oil cooler installed by my local dealer. I have been running 33's and do light offroading. But, I am getting a 4"Tuff Country lift instaled with some 35"s..Then the other day, after scouting out the underbelly of the truck I realized how exposed and vulnerable that oil cooler is. The fan is completely exposed as there is nothing between it and the ground. Its located right behind the tranny, and at the lowest point possible. With 35's I'm not going to be hitting any big pits or anything, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on anything to beef this up and keep it a little bit more protected. I was just going to fabricate a little cage to put over it..If anyone has any thoughts on what might be a better idea, its appreciated. Thanks.
Well, the only reason I could think of that they couldn't is that ther PS doesn't leave a enough room up there for one. I could probably go ask the dealer if they knew of a good spot to put it, or just see if I can find one. The cage idea isn't a bad one, but with it bein in the middle of the truck, and having the crew cab and the long bed I'm kinda nervous about some clearances...I'll try to figure something out.
